Most of the time, the lens of the camera distort the images. Typical problems in digital photos are Barrel and Pincushion distortion. The previous image show the most common problem (the barrel distortion).
The lines (bricks, window) should be perfect lines, but they are rounded. This is more obvious on the borders of the image.
If a model is extracted directly from this image, we will end up with a rounded object. The photos must therefore be corrected before extracting models from them.
The software can remove the distortion from the images, using a line with 3 vertices.

Each polygon is automatically subdivided in smaller triangles, so that the textures are visually distorded to fit with the real contour (in the real coordinates and not in the photo where the perspective modifies the images).
The tool continuously analyzes your project and shows you help topics depending on the overall progress. This feature is designed to help new users to start a project from scratch.
